I have made a diorama that I am calling the “unthroned” room for the Our House diorama project at Home Ec Workshop, 424 E. Jefferson Street, Iowa City, IA USA. Volunteer makers will provide dioramas to be stacked to make a multi-roomed house. The house will be on display for the month of June. There will be an opening at Home Ec Workshops on Friday, June 2.
I have begun a new project which I think will involve the play King Lear. It is very early but the first manifestation is this bean bag puppet I am calling Trumpish. I will post updates periodically here, on Facebook and Instagram at emilymartin53.

My book All Sorts has been selected as a Gallery Choice award winner in the exhibit Pop-Up Now II, an international, juried exhibition of handmade pop-up and movable artists books at 23 Sandy Gallery, 623 NE 23rd Ave., Portland, OR. The Gallery Choice award was made by owner and artist Laura Russell. She says “As a graphic designer I find this book is not only an example of stellar design and color, but it is a well-researched and well-conceived work where each and every element from the structure, inspired by orange crates, to the double alphabet, counts. It is also flawlessly executed. Top notch quality.”

The books are currently on exhibit at the Michigan State University Main Library, 4th floor, 366 West Circle Drive, East Lansing, MI, March 31 to May 31, 2016.
